I came to this school knowing NOTHING about K9 training or maintenance. Throughout my time in the course I met many people who have mentored me and offered guidance in the learning process. Every instructor is very approachable and offers their knowledge whenever requested. Duel was a very knowledgeable instructor who took his time to adjust to each students learning style. I highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to get into the K9 training or handling business.

I graduated from the Kennel Master Course a few months ago with Debra as my instructor, she was patient and answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand, she is very knowledgeable when it comes to anything related to the kennel operations, injuries, feeding schedule to increase, decrease, or maintain weight for the K9s. It was a real pleasure to work and learn from Debra and pick her brain about anything and everything related to Kennel operations. Madison and Mary were extremely helpful, and professional and taught me a lot as well. I have applied some of the things I learned in my own house and with my clients with great success.

Recently graduated from the Full Service Trainer Course.

Brandon and Szymon gave me a better understanding of how MWD and Police K9s are trained, different methods of training, and the science behind everything that goes into training the K9 for particular purposes. We were able to see the entire process of training a police K9 from start to finish and get certified.

This course will test your patience, and test you mentally but if you listen, observe, ask questions, and keep an open mind, the amount of information and learning possibilities are endless and invaluable.

It didn’t matter if we were doing the bite suit, imprinting wall, tracking, obedience, or just in the classroom, Brandon and Szymon took the time to talk me through things I didn’t understand, what I did incorrectly, and what the second and third-order effects would be on the K9 as well as the handler. Nobody looked down on me for being a clicker trainer, retired from the military, or had an objection or suggestions to a few things but we figured out a different route and kept training.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you are a “force-free” or “positive-based” trainer, there is always something to learn, and even if you do not use some methods at least you will have them in your toolbox just in case. A true dog trainer should always continue to learn all sides of training and keep evolving to find the best way to train dogs.

Both courses were a wealth of knowledge that I use at home and with clients, the staff, and the instructors were great!

There was always something to learn, and It didn’t matter how much experience you had, whether it was years or none. Brandon would take the time to explain what we did right, what we did wrong, how it could affect the K9s (mentally and physically) if performed improperly, and how it could injure the decoy or other handler and understand that there are more ways to train a dog. Brandon never talked down to me or other students or treated us differently because of our years in service in law enforcement or the military. Brandon’s adaptability to certain situations and how some dogs behave shows he knows what he is doing and cares about the dog’s safety. The thing I respect most about Brandon is that he doesn’t think he knows it all and is always looking to learn more about dogs, their psychology, and how to train, he would ask one of the other trainers if he didn’t have a concrete answer and get back to us. Brandon and I had multiple conversations about how I train Service Dogs if nothing more than to understand a different perspective and see if he could learn something new himself. That is the sign of a great trainer!!!!

The way he explained how the K9 olfactory system, traits, drives work, and different methods to motivate the K9s to work and alert, I have a better understanding and I am better prepared to continue training Service Dogs for Veterans, Law Enforcement, and First Responders who are having a difficult time after their service.

I originally contacted AJ in September of 2023. A year had went by while I was still figuring out a timeline to commit to the course. AJ kept in contact the entire time, always checking in and when I finally decided to join the trainer course he was very helpful one on one with the entire process. The Full Service Trainer Course was perfect for my situation and set me up with all the tools I needed to be a great trainer. Although learning is never ending, I am well aware and fully confident CCU will be there to help in the future with any questions I may have. The course , although very challenging, is very rewarding. The learning process is enjoyable however it can challenge your patience and critical thinking skills, therefore I would recommend this course to anyone who will be handling dogs every day, or very often. The amount of different situations you are put in on a regular basis will set you up for success. It is a training facility that I believe is a must for anyone who wants to be a trainer for those reasons alone.

Brandon’s understanding of training techniques and canine behavior is remarkable. His personable nature makes the learning process effective and enjoyable. He inspires confidence and trust, ensuring long term success for future trainers, handlers, and the dogs.
