Core Training Values

Every course at Custom Canine Unlimited is crafted around a Core Value System, ensuring that dogs and handlers can effectively apply what they learn in the field. Our Core Values are:

  • Optimized learning:Ā We design a comprehensive curriculum that maximizes training efficiency.
  • Detailed resources:Ā Each participant receives a manual containing the complete training materials for reference.
  • Full warranty:Ā We stand by ourĀ programs with a comprehensive warrantyĀ exclusive to our dog handler courses.
  • Thorough documentation:Ā We maintain meticulous records of each course to reduce liability concerns.
  • Engaging assessments:Ā Our fill-in-the-blank tests enhance comprehension and retention of the material.
  • Practical evaluation:Ā Field exercises are employed to rigorously assess each student’s skills and uncover any training challenges.

Reliability Program

Our Reliability Program, honed through years of experience in K9 training in Georgia, addresses critical training aspects through a three-pronged approach:

  • Dog selection:Ā We meticulously evaluate each dog’s drive, characteristics, and health to ensure compatibility.
  • Dog training:Ā Our team leverages scientific principles and practical experience to create a conducive environment for each dog’s success. We rigorously test them throughout the program to identify any potential issues.
  • Handler training:Ā Effective communication is the cornerstone of a successful dog-handler relationship. We emphasize that knowledge must flowĀ down the leash, not the other way around. Each handler undergoes thorough training and assessment to equip them with the skills necessary to thrive in the field.

At Custom Canine Unlimited, we are dedicated to empowering veterans with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed and to forge strong partnerships between handlers and their K9 companions.

What should I bring with my dog to the first training session?2026-03-24T06:24:35-04:00

For your first session, we typically recommend owners bring a leash, a flat collar (no prong collars), and either treats or toys, depending on what motivates their dog. If your dog has specific dietary needs or training tools you’ve been using, let us know in advance so we can advise you. During your initial consultation with Custom Canine Unlimited, we’ll provide clear guidance on any additional requirements for your specific program to ensure you and your dog are fully prepared.

How long do typical training programs run for different behavior goals?2026-03-07T00:14:01-05:00

The length of our programs depends on your dog’s starting point and the goals you’d like to achieve. Foundational obedience programs may run for several weeks, while more advanced behavior modification or specialized training programs may require a longer, structured timeline. After evaluating your dog, we’ll outline a clear training plan and timeline so you know exactly what to expect and how we’ll work together to achieve your desired outcome.

Do you offer evaluations to assess my dog’s training needs?2026-03-24T03:00:50-04:00

Yes, we conduct professional evaluations to assess your dog’s behavior, temperament, and overall training needs. This allows us to recommend the most appropriate program and ensure we’re aligning with your goals. Our evaluations help us create a customized training plan designed to build reliability, confidence, and lasting results.

How soon can I enroll my dog in a training program?2026-03-24T03:03:05-04:00

Enrollment timelines vary depending on program availability and your dog’s specific training goals. We recommend contacting our team as soon as possible so we can discuss your needs and determine the next available start date. In many cases, we can begin the evaluation process quickly and secure a spot in an upcoming program.

Can I book private one-on-one training sessions at any Georgia location?2026-03-24T06:27:22-04:00

Yes, we offer private one-on-one training sessions at our Georgia location. Our personalized training allows us to focus specifically on your dog’s behavior, temperament, and your individual goals. Can I Use the Army Career Skills Program (CSP) to Complete Training Before Transitioning From Military Service?2025-04-04T15:18:30-04:00

However,Ā studentsĀ can obtainĀ Commander approval to attend our trainingĀ duringĀ their last 180 daysĀ of service. WeĀ provide an enrollment letter to theĀ commanderĀ when a soldier enrolls in our two-month program.
