K9 Trainer
K9 Handler
U.S. Army Veteran
Brandon Martin, a dedicated K9 trainer, holds a profound appreciation for the CCU family, which welcomed him with open arms after completing the Full Service Trainer Course. It was within this supportive community that he found a sense of belonging and purpose, building on his passion for working with veterans and law enforcement. As a six-year Army veteran with two deployments to Afghanistan under the 101st Airborne Division, Brandon’s journey began in Ocala, Florida, where he enlisted at 19, cultivating a deep-rooted sense of discipline and camaraderie. Alongside his wife Ashley and their four daughters, he brings his experience and commitment to his work, shaping both canines and their handlers with precision and care.

Writing
Brandon is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced instructor who genuinely wants his students and their K9 partners to succeed. He does an excellent job explaining training techniques, setting clear expectations, and helping handlers understand not just what to do, but why they are doing it.
I particularly appreciated his ability to recognize individual strengths and weaknesses in both handlers and dogs. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Brandon takes the time to understand each team’s needs and adjusts his instruction accordingly. He recognizes that handlers learn differently and that each dog presents its own challenges. His ability to provide individualized guidance while maintaining high expectations makes him an effective instructor.
Brandon is approachable, patient, and willing to answer questions. His feedback is honest and constructive, and he encourages handlers to think critically, recognize their mistakes, and develop confidence in their own abilities.
On a personal level, I appreciated his willingness to recognize areas where I needed additional guidance and provide feedback that helped me better understand my K9 partner. He challenged me to improve while also acknowledging my progress, which made a difference in my confidence as a handler.
Overall, I have a great deal of respect for Brandon as an instructor. His dedication, knowledge, and genuine investment in the success of his students and their K9 partners made this course a valuable experience.

Recent Handler Graduate
I had recently graduated the full service trainer course and rolled into explosive detection and tracking. Brandon’s ability to convey complex training concepts including behavioral and psychological aspects of the canine profile into easy to absorb chunks made training at CCU extremely enjoyable. His love for dogs really shines through in his teaching. Overall a total stud, couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. I HIGHLY recommend him for any k9 training needs. He made sure Jake and I would be a strong, capable team ready for deployment.

Civilians dog training and kennel boarding
CCU made such a difference with my dog. The trainers are nice and always ready to help. The 6 wks dog training made my disobedient dog into an obedient dog. So happy with their service. Definitely recommend.
